Louise Wright Monroe

Louise Wright Monroe of Lynchburg passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026.

Louise was born in Naruna, VA on July 2, 1931 to the late William Edward Wright and Sue Toler Wright.

She was the beloved wife of the late Edward James Monroe.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, James Wright, Gordon Wright, Frank Wright and Richard Elwood Wright; and three sisters, Josephine Daniel, Christine Burnett and Margaret Terry.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Edward James Monroe, Jr. and his wife, Lori, her daughter, Cathy Sue Monroe; her cherished grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Monroe and Warren Edward Monroe and his wife, Imelda; one sister, Catherine Abbott; one brother, Carlton Wright.

We are thankful to God for the blessing of having her in our lives and look forward to being reunited in glory.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 12:00 pm at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with interment to follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
