Iris Hicks Nunley

Iris Hicks Nunley, age 94 of Fieldale, Virginia passed away on Friday, May 1, 2026 at her residence after a decline in health.

Mrs. Nunley was born on August 9, 1931 in West Virginia to Roy Hicks and Estelle Marie Hicks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Lee Nunley, two sons, Rocky Lane Nunley, Robert Lee Nunley and a son-in-law, Donald Howell. She was employed by Stanley Furniture Company for 30 years. She was a member of Stanleytown Amazing Grace Church.

Mrs. Nunley is survived by three daughters, Patricia Ramos, Peggy Howell and Mary Ann Coleman (Paul “Whitey”), one son, Timothy Nunley, one brother, Arnold Hicks, nine grandchildren, twenty two great grandchildren and five great-great Grandchildren.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, Virginia from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, May 8, 2026 at the Collins Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Greg Hodges officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
