Ronda Black Howard
Ronda Black Howard, 61, of Roanoke, Virginia, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, in Roanoke with her loving husband Tony Howard by her side. She was born on December 31, 1964, in New York to Eldon and Kathaleen (Katie) Black. Ronda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who loved her family most of all. She enjoyed simple pleasures that brought her joy: reading, camping, crocheting, and canning vegetables from her garden. Above all, she cherished the time spent with those she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Kathaleen (Katie) Black and her son, Michael Watson. Ronda is survived by her husband, Tony Howard; her children Zachary Watson, Amanda Watson, and chosen daughters Autumn Hurley and Christa Thurston; her special nephew David Palmer Jr., who spoke with her daily; her brother Ron; her step-sisters Donna Floyd and Diana Woods; her step-brother David Palmer; ten grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude and heartfelt thanks to Tammy Spencer for the loving help and compassionate care she so tenderly gave to Ronda. In keeping with Ronda’s wishes, there will be no public ceremony or arrangements. Her family will carry her love, laughter, and comforting presence in their hearts forever.
