Tania Beketov Yopp

Mrs. Tania (Tatiana) Beketov Yopp passed away peacefully Sunday, May 10th, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born October 20,1939 in Osiek Yugoslavia, to the late Ivan Beketov and Ana B. Beketov. She was the youngest of three children. After immigration to the United States, her family resided in Cana, Virginia where she grew up and lived all her life. She worked in the hosiery and sock industry in Mt. Airy and in her later years took on the service of working with Easter Seals of North Carolina and Surry Health and Rehabilitation. Tania enjoyed her hobby of crocheting. Many people were the recipients of her craft. She is survived by her beloved children, Otis B. McCraw (Leslie), Leo Franklin (Frankie) McCraw, Donna McCraw Belvins, Amy McCraw Smith, Kimberly Yopp Phillips (Eddie) Jackie Shelton Taylor (Ralph); 17 Grandchildren and 12 Great-Grand Children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Yopp, brother, Vassily Beketov; sister, Vera Beketov Haynes. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday May 13th, at 2:00 PM at Moodys Funeral Home in Mt. Airy NC, with the Reverend Eddie Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Williow Hill Moravian church in Cana, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Easter Seals of N.C.
