Gregory Shawn Williams
Gregory Shawn Williams, a man of profound faith and unyielding resilience, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the age of 33. Gregory was a beautiful soul whose life was a living testament to the power of grace and perseverance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Woody and Diana Vangundy Burton; and his grandmother, Diana Vangundy.
Greg was known by many for his warmth and his eagerness to share his story—a story defined by beating the odds. He walked through life with a deep love for God, using his own experiences to inspire everyone he met. His journey was one of overcoming, and his strength served as a beacon of hope for those facing their own challenges.
A true lover of life and movement, Greg found joy in the world around him. He was happiest when he was outdoors, whether he was out on the trails riding motorbikes or 4-wheelers, or simply enjoying the fresh air. His creative spirit shone through his drawings and his love for music, passions that allowed him to express the beauty he saw in the world.
At just 33 years old, Gregory’s passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of his friends, family, and community. While he has gone far too soon, the impact of his kindness and his "never give up" spirit will continue to live on in the many lives he touched.
Left to cherish is memories are his brother, Jonathan Williams; sister, Brittney Burton Cooper; aunt, Paula Thomason; special friend, Courtney Mays; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Gregory’s legacy is one of faith, warmth, and the reminder that no matter the odds, there is always a way forward. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
