Bill Franklin Vaughn

Bill Franklin “Frank” Vaughn, 59, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 8, 2026. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy Vaughn.

Frank is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Patricia “Pat” Vaughn; stepsons, Robert “Shawn” Grisham (Tiffany), Andrew Grisham , and Michael Grisham; grandchildren, Jakob Grisham, Draven Grisham, and Lauryn Grisham; 3 step-grandchildren; mother, Evelyn Vaughn; sister, Brenda Vaughn; brother, Kevin Vaughn (Christy); nieces and nephews, Peyton Vaughn, Colyn Vaughn, Corin Vaughn (Alex), Dustin Vaughn (Krista), Caleb Vaughn (Hayley), and Dylan Vaughn; and eight great nieces and nephews.

Frank grew up in the Roanoke Valley, graduated from William Fleming High School in 1984. Upon graduation Frank volunteered with the Troutville Rescue Squad for many years. Frank graduated from ECPI in 2011 and ITT in 2014, both with Bachelor degrees in Computer Technology. Frank was a loving and devoted husband and a wonderful stepfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and family, going to the lake, photography, attending NASCAR races, and fishing. He loved to cook and bake, especially around the holidays. Since owning his first computer in the 1980’s, he had a knack for diagnosing and repairing computers. After his wife’s recent knee replacement surgeries, he played the role of her nurse and caretaker.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at 7:00pm at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, Roanoke, VA 24019. A Visitation will be held one hour prior from 6:00 – 7:00pm.
