George "Jack" Jackson Finley

George Jackson “Jack” Finley, 74, husband of Brenda Barber Finley, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 22, 2026. He was the son of the late Orville and Opal Finley. He was also preceded in death by his sons, Adam Strickler and Luke Strickler; brothers, David Finley and Randy Finley; brother-in-law, Randy Lively.

In addition to his wife of 48 years, he will be missed and remembered by his daughter, Cassidy Hatfield and her partner, James Wall; grandchildren, Adaline Rose, Gabrielle Strickler, and Seirra St. Clair; sisters, Sally Nunley and her husband GK, and Susan Lively; as well as a longtime friend, Lloyd Caldwell.

Jack as he was known, was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, and later worked as a truck driver and mechanic for more than 30 years. He became a Pastor later in life and was the former Pastor at Maranatha Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2026 in the Chapel of Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, with Pastor Barry King officiating.

Interment will follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
