Dalton Craig Jackson
It is with profound love and deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dalton (DJ) Craig Jackson, 35, of Amherst VA, on Friday June 5, 2026.
Born on September 29, 1990 to Craig and Kimberly Jackson, Dalton brought an immeasurable amount of love, light and perspective into all our lives.
Throughout his life, Dalton navigated the world with extraordinary tenacity, bravery and fortitude. Though his journey involved unique challenges, Dalton possessed an infectious laugh, a warrior’s spirit and a remarkable ability to communicate love without words.
He inspired everyone he met to look beyond themselves and appreciate the simple, beautiful moments in life. Though his medical and developmental needs were complex, his ability to give and receive love was limitless.
Dalton taught all who knew him the true meaning of courage, patience and resilience. He made us all better people simply by being exactly who he was.
Dalton is survived by his loving parents, Kim and Craig Jackson, his “big” little sister, Ashley Jackson with whom he shared an unbreakable bond. His Grandmother NaNa Dea Moore, awesome uncles Johnny Moore and Wendell Brown, exceptional aunts Teri Brown and Jennifer Moore (Riddle) and aunt and uncle Keith and Betty Ann Jackson and seven cousins. Proceeded in death by his paternal grandmother, Barbra Strum, grandfather (Paw-Paw) Jimmy Jackson with whom he shared a unique bond with and Bonus Grandpa, Bennie Riddle, who provided many adventures of horses and cowboy life.
Kim and Craig would like to give special thanks to his Uncle Johnny and Uncle Wendell along with his Aunts Teri and Jennifer for their constant and dedicated support through this difficult time.
The family also wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Tolbert Home where Dalton resided for the last decade. The care, compassion and dedication given to Dalton was exceptional. Angie loved Dalton as her own and he was accepted and loved by the entire Tolbert Family. Special heartfelt gratitude for her care and love to caregiver and friend Miss Que.
Dalton will be forever cherished by his parents, his sister Ashley, his extended family and all those who knew him. We find comfort in knowing Dalton is reunited with his beloved PawPaw now and neither have illness or pain. Dalton was a blessing and a privilege to know.
