Bonnie Lou Lawson Turner

Bonnie Lou Lawson Turner of Bassett, Va. walked into the arms of Jesus on Friday, June 5, 2026. She was born March 20, 1949, in Patrick County, Va. to the late Davis and Virginia (Bessie) Lawson.

In addition to her parents, Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Lindsey “L.O.” Owen Turner, Sr. and grandson Tyler Anthony Gunnell; 2 sisters, Lennis Kendrick and Katie Burgart.

Leaving behind to carry her legacy are her sons, Reverend Sidney Turner and his wife Renea, Lyndon Turner, David Turner and his wife Angela, and L.O. Turner, Jr. and his wife, Shannon; 2 granddaughters, Meghan Sweitzer (Tanner) and Angel Craig (Jonathan); 2 grandsons, Levi Dillon and Jacob Gunnell (LeeAnna); 2 great grandsons, Johnathan Owen Knoell and Tristan Kirk Craig, 4 brothers, Daniel Lawson, Bennie Lawson (Gail), C.J. Lawson and C.L. Lawson; sister, Dovie McAdams (David); 2 sisters-in-law, Ruth Crump (Tom), Lois Turner (George); also a host of nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

The family would like to extend a huge thank you to Ann and Mike for your loyal friendship to her for the last several years.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at the Peoples Church of the Living God. A funeral will follow at 3:00 pm and will be officiated by Reverend David Shelton and Bishop Dwayne Pruitt. Interment will follow at Elamsville Christian Church Cemetery.
