Patricia Jones Sandmeyer

Patricia Jones Sandmeyer, age 93 of Chatham, Virginia passed away peacefully at her residence on June 9, 2026. Patricia was born January 3, 1933, in Dumfries, Virginia to the late George Jones and the late Alice Roles Ross. She was married to the late Richard Chalen Sandmeyer. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend who touched countless lives throughout her years.

Patricia spent 41 years working as the Director of Pittsylvania County Senior Nutrition Program, a profession she took great pride in. Known for her strong work ethic, kind heart, and willingness to help others, she earned the respect and admiration of everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her dedication to her family, her generous spirit, and the lasting impact she made on those around her.

Patricia is survived by her daughters, Valerie Booth (John), Lora Midkiff (Charles), of Gretna, VA, and Crystal McArthur (Jim) of Martinsburg, WV; sisters, Sandra Terrell of Mantao, MN, Sharon Daniels of Petersburg, VA, and Frankie Mason of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Andy Ross of Dinwiddie, VA, Tommy Jones of Petersburg, VA, and John Jones of Natural Bridge, VA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her first husband, Charles Bean; sons Earl Bean, Charles Bean, and Keith Bean; daughters, Charlotte Bean and Starr Minor; sister, Julia Jones; brother, William Jones; and grandchildren, Amy Martin and John Paul Martin.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Patricia’s caregiver from Mountain Valley Hospice, Vickye Pittman.

Patricia will be laid to rest at the Culpeper National Cemetery in Culpeper, Virginia on Friday, June 26, 2026, 3:00 p.m.
