Rebekah "Becky" Dawn Penley Thomas

REBEKAH (“BECKY”) PENLEY THOMAS, 47, of the White Gate Community of Giles County, was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, after a long illness.

Becky worked at Bland Correctional Center for many years. She loved cooking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She was an advocate for Autism, and was an outspoken advocate for her son, Sam.

Becky was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert & Betty Dillow Penley and Albert, Jr. & Margaret Pruett Miller.

Becky is survived by her husband, Robert (“Bo”) Thomas; her beloved son, Samuel (“Sam”) Thomas; her parents, Bobby & Brenda Miller Penley; her sister & brother-in-law, Bridgette Penley Midkiff (David); her brother & sister-in-law, Jim Bob Penley ( Mindy); her nieces, Laura Midkiff Meredith ( James), Rachel Penley Smith (Luke) and Josie Roland; her nephews, Robbie Penley (Maddie), Clayton Roland and Caleb Roland; her great-nephew, Gus Smith; her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Robert (“Bob”) & Jan Thomas; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.

Funeral services for Becky will be held Sunday, June 21, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, with Pastor Barry Dillow officiating. Burial will follow in Temple Hill Cemetery, Bland.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
