Tony Wayne Dodson

Tony Wayne Dodson, 78, of Rixeyville, VA passed away peacefully at his sons home on Thursday, June 18, 2026. He was the son of the late Thomas Dodson and Dorothy Stalls Dodson.

Born on December 30, 1947, Tony was known for his devotion to hard work and his family. He enjoyed making a good Carolina Barbeque and truly loved listening to music, primarily classic country including George Jones and Percy Sledge. Tony liked to watch racing events and gardening his plants. Tony was truly loved by those around him and will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents Tony was preceded in passing by his sister Maxine Wells.

Those left to cherish Tony’s memory include his son Tony DeWayne Dodson and his wife Rebecca, Mark Dodson and his partner Laura Dodson; his grandchildren Josh Dodson and his partner Amy Blankenship, Michael Dodson and his partner Leanna Shafer, Hailey Dodson, Cheyenne Lewis; his great-grandchildren Autumn Dodson, Logan Dodson, Layla Dodson, Kieran Dodson, Easton Dodson, Athena Franklin, Rosalynn Franklin, Hayden Lewis, Wanda Baker; his step-grandchildren Will Addair, Patricia Lowery and her husband Justin, Chandler Jenkins, Shawn Baker; and step great-grandchildren Adrienne Hurley, Brittany Lowery and Landon Lowery.

There will be a celebration of life service for Tony on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Whitten Monelison Chapel at 2pm, officiated by Rev. Dr. Derik Hamby. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.

There will be a graveside service on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at 11am at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Jeffersonton, VA.
