Patricia Currier Burley

January 10, 1950 - June 20, 2026

Patricia Currier King Burley, 76, of Lynchburg passed away Saturday, June 20, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Leon Currier and Nona Christine Giles.

Born January 10, 1950, Patricia attended E.C. Glass High School and went on to become a respected local business owner and operator, leaving her mark on the community through establishments including The Local Pub, Timeout and, most recently, the Courthouse Café. Known for her strong-willed nature and independent spirit, Patricia approached life with determination, confidence, and a generous heart. Above all, she cherished her family and found great joy in the relationships she shared with those she loved. A dedicated member of the local Moose Lodge, Patricia also supported charitable causes close to her heart, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Shriners Children's, reflecting her compassion and desire to help others. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for family and community touched countless lives. Patricia was a truly remarkable woman whose presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In addition to her parents Patricia was preceded in death by her son Mark King; her granddaughter Laura King; and her sister Nadine Riley.

Those left to cherish Patricia’s memory include her grandson Austin King and his wife Kimberly; her siblings Leonard Currier and his wife Karen, Debbie G. Staton and her husband Spike; her daughter in law Tracy King; her great-grandchildren Alexis Edwards (Blue), Lakelyn King, Cameron Desalis, Nikolai King; and many more nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a celebration of life for Patricia on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel at 11am with Dr. Rev. Derik Hamby officiating. Burial will follow the service at Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
