Bettie Joyce Mcdaniel Hurt

Bettie Joyce McDaniel Hurt, 80, of Hardy, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Bettie McDaniel, and her sister, Linda June.

Bettie was a devoted and active member of Roanoke Seventh-day Adventist Church, where she faithfully served for many years as head deaconess. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she found great joy in reading, especially her Bible and romance novels.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 44 years, Mark Hurt; her children, Brian Hurt and Brandie Booth; her grandchildren, Michael Hurt and his fiancée, Kenzie, and Megan and Blake Booth; her sister, Janie Taylor and husband, Carl; as well as a niece and nephews who will miss her dearly.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at Lotz Funeral Home in Vinton. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Chris Buttery officiating. Interment will follow at the Hurt Family Cemetery in Hardy, Virginia.

Bettie's steadfast faith, loving heart, and dedication to her family and church will be treasured and remembered by all who knew and loved her.
