James 'Jim' Tyler Burnette

James “Jim “Tyler Burnette, 62 of Bedford, passed away Saturday, July 4, 2026 at Carriage Hill Retirement Center. He was born on Wednesday, June 24,1964 in Bedford, VA, a son of J.T. Burnette and Helen Tyler Burnette. He was preceded in death by Virginia Gayle Burnette the mother of his children.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sons, Timothy Burnette, Tyler Burnette (Brianna), Thomas Burnette (Danielle), Mark Burnette; daughter, Hannah McPeak (A. J.); Grandchildren, Walker & Kade McPeak, Sadie Burnette, and Warren Burnette (arriving soon); nephew, Neal Latimer (Tonya); niece, Jessie DeGraff (Hayden); grand nieces &nephews, Austin, Reagan & Easton; sister, Carol Latimer (Rusty). The family would like to thank Dawn Jacobs for caring for Jim.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 10, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Updike Funeral Chapel, Bedford with Pastor Dobie Toms officiating.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until service time.
