Anna D. Dehart
Anna D. DeHart, 78, of Stuart, Virginia, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2026. She was born on May 15, 1948, in Eden (formally Leaksville), North Carolina to the late Jack Fuqua and Nancy Mahaffey Fuqua.
In addition to her parents, Anna was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Nash DeHart; her daughters, Lorrie Ann Pack and Valerie Sue Lawson; her grandsons, Bobby Wayne Lawson and Jamie McAdams; her brother, Alvis Fuqua; and her sister, Wanda Carol Fuqua Stone.
Anna was a longtime member of Skyline Pentecostal Church; she loved the Lord with all her heart and faithfully lived out her Christian faith. She was an accomplished guitarist who found great joy in singing bluegrass gospel music. During the late 1970s and early 1980s, she and her late husband traveled throughout the region, performing gospel music with the Easter Brothers and other well-known musicians. Those years remained among her proudest memories.
In 1993, she earned her GED as an encouragement to her son to remain in school. She later attended several semesters at Patrick Henry Community College alongside him, demonstrating that it is never too late to pursue one's goals.
Throughout much of her life, Anna devoted herself to caring for others. Whether serving her own family or working professionally as a caregiver, she was known for her compassionate heart and gentle spirit. In her later years, she found peace tending to her flower gardens, cheering on her favorite NASCAR driver, Kyle Busch, and creating treasured memories with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy Wilson (Larry Wilson); her son, Matt DeHart (Dana DeHart); her brother, Randy Fuqua; her grandchildren, Melissa Sessor (Sheila Branch), Vanessa Lynn (Jay Gunter), and Kelley Lawson; her great-grandchildren, Trinity Holt, Taylor Holt, Mason Holt, Lillie Rosiletti, Bam Risaliti, London Trent, and Jaycie Gunter; along with many extended family members, and friends.
A Graveside Service will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at Patrick Memorial Gardens, 20937 Jeb Stuart Highway, Stuart, VA 24171, with Pastor James Stokes, officiating. The DeHart family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt appreciation for all expressions of kindness and comfort rendered to our family during our time of grief.
