Audrey Greene Ragland
Audrey Greene Ragland, 83, of Spout Spring, Virginia, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, surrounded by her family at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Clarence Edward Ragland, Sr.
Born on December 4, 1942, in Lenoir, North Carolina, Audrey was the daughter of the late Ruby Baker Greene and Christie Lafayette “Chris” Greene.
Audrey faithfully served the Lord throughout her life as a devoted member of Glory Baptist Church. Whether teaching Sunday School, serving as church treasurer, helping with Vacation Bible School, or quietly filling any need that arose, she lived out her faith with humility and joy. She loved the Lord with all her heart, and her life reflected His love through her servant’s heart, kindness, and unwavering commitment to her family, church, and community. She truly exemplified the woman described in Proverbs 31.
Above all else, Audrey treasured her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she loved deeply and prayed for faithfully. Her legacy of faith, love, generosity, and grace will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is survived by her three children: Clarence Edward “Eddie” Ragland, Jr. and wife, Cheryl; Virginia Gail Martin; and Catherine Louise Milton and husband, Charles.
She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Angela Tyree and husband, Randy; Crystal Ranson and husband, David; Amanda Moore and husband, Adam; and Celena Lee and husband, Derek.
Her beloved great-grandchildren are: Brooklyn Thacker and husband, CJ; William Tyree and girlfriend Karleigh; Raegan Tyree; Brennan Ranson; Bennett Ranson; Ashton Moore; Adeline Moore; and Jackson Lee.
She is also survived by her sisters, Evelyn Judith Garrett and husband, Robert, and Teresa Gail Lewis and husband, Jeff; her sister-in-law, Nancy Greene; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, Audrey was preceded in death by her brother, Milton L. “Buddy” Greene, and her sister, Melanie Jeanette Chambers.
A celebration of Audrey’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Glory Baptist Church, 195 Park Ln Appomattox, officiated by Pastor Jeff Worley and Pastor Mark Simpson. Interment will immediately follow in the Glory Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home of Crystal and David Ranson, 3224 Double Bridges Road, Spout Spring, Appomattox, Virginia 24522.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 894 Appomattox, Va 24522.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Nancy Greene for the loving care and compassion she provided to Audrey.
