Zoie Nicole Shelton
Zoie Nicole Shelton, 19, of Martinsville, VA, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. She was born on September 26, 2006, in Martinsville, VA, to Todd Mitchell Shelton and Amber Nicole Anderson. Zoie is preceded in death by her cousin, Brayden Snow and grandmother, Barbara Young.
Zoie was a proud 2025 graduate of Bassett High School. She was a vibrant, spirited, and loving young woman whose generous heart and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on everyone she met. A true social butterfly, Zoie never met a stranger. Her warm smile, outgoing personality, and strong work ethic made her a joy to be around, and she genuinely loved getting to know new people.
She embraced all things girly, from the color pink and cheetah print, to Starbucks runs, painting her nails, and applying her favorite lashes. Zoie also had a special love for animals, especially cows, and found happiness in spending time at the beach with those she loved. Her bright spirit, kind heart, and unforgettable smile will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Zoie is survived by her loving parents, Todd Shelton (Dawn) and Amber Anderson; her best friends, siblings Abbie Shelton, Ethan Shelton, and Kamden Moorefield; grandparents, Mike and Debra Anderson; grandfather, Sammy Shelton; aunts, Kimberly Snow (Kevin), Courtney Meena (John) and Jaime Biggs (Jerald); uncle, Matt Shelton; and cousins, DJ, Patrick, Jackson, Karley, Ian, Luke, and Chandler.
To memorialize her giving spirit, Zoie’s family chose to donate her organs. At this time, it has been confirmed that Zoie has saved seven people through the gift of organ donation.
A Celebration of life will be held on August 1, 2026, at 12:00PM, at McCabe Memorial Baptist Church in Martinsville, Virginia, with Pastor Jonathan Winningham officiating. A visitation with a meal will follow the Celebration of Life at McCabe Memorial Baptist Church until 4:00PM.
