Barbara Gail Lambert

September 25, 1952 - July 14, 2026

Barbara Gail Lambert, 73, of Appomattox, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born in Lynchburg on September 25, 1952, Barbara was the daughter of the late Dewey Leonard and Elizabeth Mason.

Barbara dedicated many years of service as a nurse's aide at the Central Virginia Training Center, where she compassionately cared for others. Her caring nature extended far beyond her career. She had a true servant's heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with them, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. Barbara also expressed her love through cooking, preparing meals that brought family and friends together around the table.

A devoted Christian, Barbara loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a member of Lynchburg Church of God of Prophecy and found strength, peace, and purpose in her faith. While her family grieves her passing, they take comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering and is now walking the streets of gold with her Savior, whom she faithfully served throughout her life.

She is survived by her two daughters, Tina Camden (Charles) and Wanda Chandler (Neal); her son, Gerald Lambert, Jr.; her two sisters, Susan Short and Bonnie Wade; seven beloved grandchildren; and eleven cherished great-grandchildren, along with many other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Barbara's legacy of faith, compassion, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
