Lucy Hearp Burnett

Lucy Hearp Burnett, 96, passed away peacefully at her residence on July 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Lucy was born in Pittsylvania County, VA on September 10, 1929 to the late Daisy Stowe Hearp and the late Leonard Hutch Hearp. She is survived by her loving husband of 76 years, Mr. Arthur Garfield “A.G.” Burnett Jr.

Lucy was of the Christian Faith and a member of Emmanuel Pentecostal Holiness Church. She worked for many years as the secretary for A.G. Burnett Insurance/ Nationwide Insurance.

In addition to her husband, Lucy is survived by a daughter; Angela Burnett Davis and husband Steven Davis of Glen Allen, VA; two grandchildren; Steven Michael Davis and Matthew Burnett Davis; a sister; Clara “Boots” Ryan of Danville, VA; and three special nephews; Wayne Ryan, Kevin Holley, and Brad Doss.

In addition to her parents, Lucy was predeceased by four sisters; Inez Holley, Eunice Hall, Lillian Haymore, and Ollie Wells; and three brothers; Dempsey Hearp, Leonard Hearp, and Early Hearp.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Thursday, July 23, 2026 at 2:00pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel with Pastor Mike Hearp officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Highland Burial Park, Danville, VA. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 6-7:30pm also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA. At other times the family will receive friends at the residence.
