Charles Jackie Brooks

Charles Jackie Brooks, age 75 passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at his residence. Mr. Brooks was born March 16, 1951 in Pittsylvania County to the late Louise Towler Brooks and the late James Brooks. He was married to Susan Honeycutt Brooks.

Mr. Brooks was a maintenance supervisor, as well as, a local farmer’s mechanic until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman and found great joy fishing and hunting. He will always be remembered as a kind and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to everyone who knew him.

In addition to his beloved wife of the residence, he is also survived by his sons, Charles C. Brooks (Jessica) and Justin J. Brooks (Shane); his grandchildren, Summer Brooks (Jordan Chrismon) and Brandon Brooks; his step grandchildren, Hunter Phillippi (Leslie), Kenley Turner (Alex Holley), and Colten Phillippi; his great granddaughter, Scarlett Burke; his great step granddaughter Paisley Jo; and his bonus child, Larry Parsons, Jr.

In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Muriel Ferrell, and his brothers, Ralph Brooks and Robert Brooks.

A Celebration of Life Service honoring Mr. Brooks will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, 3:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Service, Chatham Chapel with Pastor Eddie Collins officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

At other times, the family will receive friends and family at the residence.
