Cleon Elroy Dillard

Cleon Elroy Dillard, Sr., 69, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away Monday,July 27, 2026. He was born September 19, 1956, in Martinsville, Virginia to the late Laura Wade Dillard and Eugene Dillard.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Nathaniel Manns, Andrew L. Dillard, and Alver Dillard.

Cleon attended Mount Bethel Church. He attended G.W. Carver High School and was employed by Springs for many years. Cleon enjoyed playing music, watching football, and was a devoted New England Patriots fan. He dearly loved his family, and those who knew him will remember how much he loved onions.

He is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda Woods Dillard; daughters, Ariyana Dillard, Alisha Woods, Aaliyah Dillard, and Andreshia Brooks ( Damain); son, Cleon Dillard, Jr.; sisters, Janice Pace, Sharon L. Hairston, Stephanie Dillard, Abigail Reynolds (Willie); brothers, David D. Dillard, Richard W. Dillard; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held Thursday, August 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM, at Refuge Temple with Bishop Alan Preston officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Wade Family Cemetery. A Visitation will be held one half hour prior to the service. A floating Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 1:30 PM – 5:00 PM at Wright Funeral Service Martinsville Chapel.
