Jack Reed Eanes

Jack Reed Eanes, Sr., 75, of Stuart, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his home on July 30, 2026.

Born on February 26, 1951, Jack was the son of the late Robert Aubrey Eanes and Velma Sexton Eanes. He was preceded in death by his brothers, James “Jim” Gross and Robert “Bobby” Eanes.

He was a practical man who enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching football, and donating to two causes he cared for—St. Jude’s and Boys Town. He loved his family and especially looked forward to gathering everyone together each Christmas for breakfast.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Eanes; his children, Crystal Pratt (Steven) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Jay Eanes (Lisa) of Ridgeway, Virginia, Amy Webster (Kenny) of Martinsville, Virginia, Will Moseley II (Erin) of Roanoke, Virginia, Matthew Moseley of Bassett, Virginia, and Laura Moseley of Bassett, Virginia.

Jack was a proud grandfather to Ashlyn Pratt, Logan Webster, Lindsey Webster, Carter Williams, and Willow Moseley. He is also survived by his sisters, Ressie Brewer (Wayne), Martha Compton (Willy), and sister in-law, Donna Eanes, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

The family will host a visitation at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 7174 Mountain Valley Rd., Axton, Virginia on Sunday, August 9th, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
