Carol J. Murray

Carol J. Murray, 75, of Roanoke County, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 31, 2026, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Hazel Jennings; mother-in-law, Nyna Murray; brother, Roger Jennings; nephew, Roggie Jennings; and furbaby, Harley.

Carol is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 28 years, Donny Murray; son, Chris Murray (Kent); daughters, Sonya Davis (Shawn), Holly Chappell (Garrett), and Kayla Murray; grandchildren, Madelyn Davis, Hayden Chappell, Isabella Davis, Abigail Davis, Ariel Chappell, and Lana Chappell; along with her furbabies, Tyson and Zoey.

Carol retired from Carilion after 50 years of dedicated service as both a Radiology Tech and Information Technology Specialist. She was a faithful member of Fincastle Baptist Church and had many close friends who loved her dearly.

The family will have a Visitation on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 11:00am – 12:00pm at Fincastle Baptist Church, 7330 Roanoke Road, Fincastle, VA 24090. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at the church at 12:00pm, officiated by Pastor Kevin Cummings. Inurnment will take place after the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made to the Fincastle Baptist Church Building Fund.
