Fred Hamlin Morris

Fred Hamlin Morris, 95, of Salem, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Fred was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dorothy Morris, and by his parents, James and Florence Morris.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Gail Quackenbush and Nancy Edwards; his grandchildren, Angela Horsley (Brian), Derek Quackenbush, Blake Quackenbush, Kai Scales, and Micah Scales (Britney); his great-grandchildren, Sydney Pressley (Clay) and Savannah Quackenbush; his great-great-granddaughter, Avery Pressley; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Born on November 28, 1930, in Virginia, Fred lived a long and faithful life devoted to his family and his country. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with interment to follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
