Norma Jean Richardson Howell

Norma Jean Richardson Howell, 79, passed away on August 5, 2026. Norma was born in Danville, VA on January 23, 1947 to the late Nannie Simmons Richardson and the late Norman William Richardson. She is survived by her loving husband of many years, Mr. Butch Howell.

Norma Jean was of the Baptist Faith. She was a loving Homemaker to her entire family. She also proudly served her country in the U.S. Army.

In addition to her husband, Norma Jean is survived by a son; William Howell and wife Brenda; a grandson; Mack Henry; a granddaughter; Monica Henry; a great granddaughter; Maya Garcia. She is also survived by 5 nieces, 2 nephews, 6 great nieces and 5 great nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers; Norman “Bud” Richardson Jr. and Joseph Richardson; a sister; Virginia Richardson; three grandsons; William Howell Jr., Cole Howell, and Conor Howell; a niece; and her special beloved dog; Daisy.

A Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 at 1:00pm at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA with Pastor Joey Bray officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Danville, VA with military honors by Veterans Post 1097. A visitation will be held on the same day prior to the service from 12-1:00pm, also at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel, Danville, VA. At other times the family will receive friends and family at the residence, at 1281 Ringgold Depot Road, Ringgold, VA 24586.
