Fleshia Ann Wells
Fleshia Ann Wells, 62, of Bassett, Virginia, peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born August 23, 1963, in Rocky Mount, Virginia, to the late John Henry Wells and Annie Lee Wimbush Hairston.
Fleshia was a woman whose life was centered around faith, family, and love. She was a member of Divine Faith Holiness Church, where her faith was an important part of her life. She possessed a caring spirit and treasured the relationships she shared with her family and friends.
Nothing brought Fleshia greater joy than being surrounded by the people she loved. She especially cherished her grandchildren, who held a very special place in her heart. A proud and loving grandmother, Fleshia was always ready to encourage them, praise their accomplishments, and remind them of just how special they were. Her words of encouragement and the love she poured into their lives will remain a treasured part of her legacy.
Fleshia also enjoyed the simple blessing of spending time with family and friends. Whether through conversation, laughter, encouragement, or simply being together, she valued the moments that created lasting memories. Those who knew and loved Fleshia will remember the love she freely shared and the importance she placed on family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Vanessa Ann Dillard; and two brothers, Claude Wimbush and Paul Wimbush.
Fleshia leaves a beautiful legacy of love to be cherished by her two daughters, Monique Wells and Chevon Hairston; one brother, John Henry Wells, Jr.; and three beloved grandchildren, Saharie Hairston, Journi Wells, and Jostyn Wells. She also leaves a host of other relatives, church family, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the love Fleshia gave, the encouragement she offered, and the memories she created will continue to live in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. Her life will be remembered not simply by the years she lived, but by the love she gave and the lives she touched along the way.
