John "Bobby" Robert Arrington

John “Bobby” Robert Arrington, Sr., 88, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026. He was born on April 3, 1938, to the late Zachary Taylor Arrington and Emma Pearl Franklin Arrington. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Arrington; brothers, Charles Arrington, James Arrington, and Tommy Arrington; stepdaughter, Katy Jackson; and ex-wife, Clara Faye Arrington.

Bobby honorably served in the Army Nation Guard. He was born in raised in Henry County where he grew to know everyone – he never met a stranger. He was an intelligent man, and a true jack-of-all-trades but focused his career mostly on residential contracting work. After his retirement, Bobby found joy tending to his farm and livestock, consisting of cows, horses, goats, a donkey, and more. He attended Community Covenant Church in Snow Creek, Virginia.

John is survived by his wife, Nancy Foster Arrington; children, Donna Nelson, James Arrington, and John Arrington; stepchildren, Dana Blankenship (Wayne), Tammy Wise (Jonathan), Brian “Keith” Bennett (Patricia), and James Bennett (Desiree); 18 grandchildren and step-grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at Norris Funeral Services – Martinsville. The family will accept guests one hour prior to the service. A burial will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
