Clayton Cary

Mr. Clayton Huston Cary, age 74, of Covington, died Thursday, August 13, 2026, at LewisGale Medical Center, Salem. He was the husband of Linda Sue Clark Cary to whom he was married to for fifty-three years.

Mr. Cary was born January 2, 1952 in Alleghany County, the son of the late Lee Roy Cary and Maud Slusser Cary. He was employed as a laborer by Bolivia Lumber Company. He enjoyed working around the house, gardening and enjoyed working with his hands. Clayton loved his dog, "Sassy".

Mr. Cary is survived by two children, Clayton Richard Cary of Beckley, WV and Mark Andrew Cary, Sr. and wife, Cassie of Covington; five grandchildren, Harley, Dani, Abby, Emily and M.J.; two great grandchildren, Oliver and Myles; and a sister-in-law, Lisa Clark.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cary was preceded in death by his beloved grandchild, Andrew Cary whom he is holding in Heaven now.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mike Fisher officiating.

Those wishing to attend the service should assemble at Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery by 10:30 A.M.
