Jean Spicer Wright

Jean Spicer Wright, 86, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026. She was born on April 24, 1940, in Bassett, Virginia, to the late James H. Spicer and Alma Shelton Spicer. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James Marvin Wright.

Jean was a receptionist for Tultex for many years. She previously attended, and was a member of, Dan River Baptist Church, and later attended Temple Baptist Church in Covington, Virginia.

Jean is survived by her sisters, Aileen Spicer Doyle (Ronnie) and Martha Spicer Gray; and nieces and nephews, Dean Doyle, Derrick Doyle (Lori), Dawn Doyle Smith (Chad), Denise Doyle Conaty (Bill), and Amber Epling Ingram.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM, at Norris Funeral Services - Martinsville. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM, at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville, Virginia.
