Xiulan Xu Ling
Xiulan Xu Ling, 68, of Lynchburg, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026, in Lynchburg.
Born in Yunnan, China, she was the daughter of the late Hual Long Xu and Qin Xin Xu. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Yun San and Xiu Fin.
Xiulan was a highly intelligent and well-educated woman who possessed an exceptional work ethic. Before coming to the United States, she worked as an Accounting Manager in China. She later worked for C.B. Fleet in Lynchburg, where she remained until her retirement. Dependable in every aspect of her life, Xiulan took great pride in the fact that she was never tardy for work or her responsibilities.
She was independent and resourceful, always determined to figure things out on her own. Yet beneath that determination was a tender heart. Xiulan was kind and considerate to everyone she met and lived her life without wanting to trouble or burden others. Her quiet strength, intelligence and gentle nature were qualities that earned the respect and affection of those who knew her.
Above all, Xiulan was devoted to her family. She shared 43 years of marriage with her husband, Freddy Tze Ling, and was a loving wife and mother.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Qi Ling, David Xu and Edward Ling; and two siblings, Xiu Li Xu and Xiu Ying.

Xiulan will be remembered for her remarkable work ethic, her independent spirit, her kindness toward others and the quiet, thoughtful way she lived her life.
