Johnnie Florence Harrington Moore

Johnnie Florence Harrington Moore, 85, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, surrounded by her family. Florence was born in Florida on August 10, 1941, to the late Janice Roach Harrington and the late Johnny Harrington. She was also predeceased by her loving husband of over 54 years, Mr. Arthur Leon Moore.

Florence was a member of the Danville South Congregation of Jehovah Witness, She was baptized at the age of 23 and proudly served as a regular pioneer. She worked for many years at Dan River Mills Inc, previous to her retirement. Florence also loved cooking and making cactus juice, and always enjoyed making and taking meals to the members of the congregation.

Florence is survived by a daughter; Christal Anderson and husband Victor of Bahama, NC; a son; Arthur Alexander Moore of Roanoke, VA; one sister; Veronica Harrington Allen; two brothers; Robert Lingle Harrington and Lawrence Olivia Millen Harrington; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, and loving husband, Florence was predeceased by two daughters; Dedra Elizabeth Barley and Wendy Janice Walton; six siblings and a host of other nieces and nephews and other family members.

A virtual service on Zoom will be conducted on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 with video starting at 11:45am with Dexter Gravely officiating. A graveside burial will be the same day on August 25, 2026 at 3:00pm, at a private family cemetery.
