Janice Erie Hankins Price

Janice Erie Hankins Price, 74, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026. She was born September 5, 1951, in Martinsville, Virginia, to the late Joe Albert Hankins and Mabel Claire Eanes Hankins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Walker and Helen Wood; and two brothers, Albert “AJ” Joe Hankins and Pete Hankins.

Janice was of the Methodist Christian Faith. She dedicated 32 years of service to Sprint Phone Company, where she worked as an operator. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed reading, taking naps, and spending time with her sisters. She treasured her family and the memories they created together. Janice and her husband, Donald, shared 57 years of marriage, building a life filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Donald Wayne Price; two daughters, Donna Wynne White (Dean) and Joanna Lynn Carter (Kevin); one sister, Hilda Anderson; one brother, Kenneth Hankins (Rela); six grandchildren, Deana Ferguson (RJ), Whitney Hernandez (Jason), Jade Turner, Megan Price (Travis Beacham), Sarah Bennett, and Andrew Bennett; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
