Marie Earles Massey

Marie Earles Massey, age 95 of Martinsville, Virginia gained her heavenly wings and is singing with the choir of Angels on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at her residence.

Mrs. Massey was born on January 2, 1931 to Thomas Earles and Virgie Witt Earles. In addition to her parents, she predeceased by a her husband, Layman “Jack” Massey, a daughter, Gloria J. Massey, a son, Donald T. Massey, siblings; Alton Earles, Mildred E. Odell, Thelma E. Waddell and Carl Earles.

Mrs. Massey was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, a founding charter member at Preston Pentecostal Holiness Church. Our mom was a prayer warrior for all people who knew her. She led many people to the Lord and to her that was her biggest accomplishment. She was retired from Dupont. She enjoyed singing hymns, gardening, crocheting and cooking.

Marie is survived by her children, Deborah Massey, June Massey (Robert) and Jackie Hall (Ronnie), grandchildren, Eric Hodges (Jess), Josh Hazelwood, Krystel Hall (Cassidy) and Chase Hazelwood, great grandchildren, Josh Hudson, Addie Hodges, Riley Sprandlin, Carsynn Hazelwood, Mayson Hazelwood and Savannah Hodges.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. at Collins Funeral Home, 30 Riverside Hwy, Bassett, VA 24055 with a Celebraton of Life Service to follow at 1:00 PM with Reverend Doug Ramsy officiating. Burial will follow in the Ross Harbour Methodist Church Cemetery, 6260 Elamsville Road, Stuart, VA.
