Glenda Mae (Horton) Edwards

Mrs. Glenda Mae Horton Edwards, age 82 of Mount Airy, entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Northern Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Edwards was born on August 5, 1944, in Surry County to the late Glenn Woodrow Horton and Mabel Lorraine Cagle Horton Quesinberry. Glenda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Surviving is her daughters and son-in-law, Lorraine Edwards Jones and Faron, Tonya Edwards; three sons and daughters-in-law, James “Bunk” Edwards and Carol, Phillip Edwards and Nancy, John Edwards and Robin; nine grandchildren, Jacob, Josh, Latisha, Wesley, P.J., Nathaniel, Tiffany, Crystal, Kayla; eight great-grandchildren; half-sister and half-brother-in-law, Brenda Walker and Carson; half-brother and half-sister-in-law, Foy Quesinberry, Jr. and Kay; special aunt, Rhonda Horton; along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by her husband, Rush Seemore Edwards; son, Wesley Seemore Edwards; grandson, Faron Matthew Jones; and brother, Harvey Lenwood Horton. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Fancy Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church in Cana, Virginia with Reverend Chad Crotts and Reverend Joe Pyles officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2026, at Fancy Gap Pentecostal Holiness Church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
