Richard “Tony” Antonio Flint

Richard “Tony” Antonio Flint, 64, of Collinsville, Virginia, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at SOVAH Health Martinsville. Richard was born on January 16, 1962, in Rockbridge County, Virginia, to the late James Edward Flint, Sr. and Carolyn Janet Conner Flint.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Flint; three brothers, James Flint, Billy Flint, and Larry Hamner; and Patricia Flint, who raised and loved him as her own.

Richard worked and made lots of friends at the Martinsville Bulletin while working in the press room. He was known as a hardworking man with a great sense of humor and a very personable nature. He had a love for rock and roll music and especially enjoyed playing his guitar. Richard also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Blue, who was always by his side.

He is survived by his sisters, Shari Randazzo (Andrew), Laura Parnell, and Debra Moore; a special friend, Tara Surbaugh, and her son, Barrick Davis; cousins, Michelle Natale and Jimmy Morrison; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family members; and many friends.

Although services will be private, the family wishes to express their gratitude for the love and care shown during this time of grief.
