Bruce Lee Smith
Bruce Lee Smith, 63, of Martinsville, Virginia, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 13, 2026. He was born on January 16, 1963, in Baltimore, Maryland, to the late Robert Edward Smith, Sr. and Billie Jean Dodson Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Brittney Smith; sister, Elsie Copper; brother, Robert “Bobby” Smith, Jr.; and granddaughter, Arianne Smith.
Bruce was of the Christian faith and a member of Peoples Church of the Living God. His life demonstrated a strong faith and a love for God, which was evident in all that he did. He worked diligently in the manufacturing industry, including nine years at Fieldcrest Mills and more than twelve years at B & D Motors in Bassett, Virginia. Bruce had many interests and found joy in music, especially playing his guitars and singing. He was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed watching Star Trek and Star Wars. Known for his infectious laughter, he had a way of making everyone around him feel comfortable. Above all, he treasured time with family, and he especially loved his daughter’s cheesecake.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Thomas Smith, Timothey Smith; sisters, Brenda Tuttle, Peggy Johnson; grandchildren, Triston Smith, Alicia Smith, Haydon Brannon; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
