Shirley Ann Turner Mason

Shirley Ann Turner Mason, 85, of Rocky Mount, VA passed away on Monday, September 14, 2026, at her residence. She was born on August 6, 1941, to the late Richard Dewey Turner, Sr. and Alphia Hutcherson Turner. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Eugene Mason; stepdaughter, Jennifer Mosco; sisters, Pauline Norman, Gladys Harmon and Virginia Johnson; and her brothers, Dewey Turner, William Turner, and Carlyle Turner.

Shirley was a member of Central Baptist Church, where she loved being involved and spending time with her church family. She was a hard worker who dedicated thirty-seven years of her life to Bassett Furniture. Above all, Shirley cherished the time she spent with her family and the memories they made together. She also had a special love for her beloved pugs, who brought her much joy and companionship throughout the years.

She is survived by her son, Michael Davis (Linda); stepson, Rolan G. Mason; step-grandchildren, Hunter G. Mason, Arlo Mosco, and Drew Mosco.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to her special sister-in-law, Nancy Mason, for her support and thoughtfulness, which will always be deeply appreciated. Graveside service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Rick Polland officiating at Roselawn Burial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Alzheimer’s Association (https://www.alz.org/?form=FUNQZNCYXKB&lang=en-US) in Shirley’s honor.
