Randolph James Black

Randolph James Black, age 71 of Callands, Virginia passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at his residence. Mr. Black was born September 21, 1954 in Tennessee to the late Mary Gertrude Schulte Black and the late Duane George Black. He was married to Lesia Overby Black.

Mr. Black was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was a retired transcriptionist. He enjoyed electronics, collecting model cars and writing stories.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is also survived by his sons, Kevin Black, Samuel Black, Tim Akers, and Michael McBride; daughters, Tanya Lynn Black, Kelly Allen, and Shonna Higgins; grandchildren, Bentley James Akers, Connor Preston Black, Kadence Paige Black, Brooklynn Paige Thomas, Corbin Jasper Black, Kai-Ann Black, Carter James Smith, Saphira Raeleigh Jane Higgins, and Brayden Ray Xavier Higgins.

In addition, he is also survived by his sisters, Mary Black and Laura Patino; and his brother, Duane George Black, Jr.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026, 2:00 p.m. at Norris Funeral Service, Chatham Chapel, 147 S. Main St. Chatham, Virginia with Roy Swanson officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the Celebration Service, from 1:30 until 2:00 p.m., also at Norris Funeral Service, Chatham Chapel.
