Barbara Dalton Compton

Barbara Dalton Compton, 68, of Fieldale, VA passed away on September 14, 2026 at Martinsville Hospital. She was born January 2, 1958 in Martinsville, Va, to the late Alice Jane Dalton and Martin Arlidge Dalton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by Elvin “Glenn” Compton, husband, and sisters Pat Dalton and Irma Kendrick.

Barbara was known for her kindness and love for everyone. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and a very hard worker. Barbara was also very well known for her famous fried apple pies and her homemade buttermilk biscuits.

Barbara is survived by Jennifer Cave daughter and Keith Cave spouse of Bassett, Va, Mary “Janie” Allen daughter of Snow Creek, Va, Jessica Hernandez daughter Joel Hernandez spouse of Bassett, Va, David Compton Step-Son of Rocky Mount, Va, Jacob Harris live in grandson of Bassett, Va, Tyler Hylton grandson Jade Hylton spouse of Bassett, Va, Benjaman Allen grandson of Martinsville, Va, Dylan Hylton grandson of Bassett, Va, Isabel Lopez granddaughter of Martinsville, Va, Alejandra Aparicio granddaughter of Bassett, Va, Lyric Compton step granddaughter of Rocky Mount, Va, Hilda Matthews sister Robert Matthews spouse of Reidsville, Nc, Thomas “Tommy” Dalton brother of Snow Creek, Va and many special nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11am – 1 pm on Saturday September 19 th , 2026 at 137 Snow Creek Road Martinsville, Va 24112.
