Fannie Mae Kellam

Fannie Mae Kellum, 90, of Martinsville, Virginia, peacefully transitioned from this life on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at her home. She was born on September 24, 1935, in Henry County, Virginia, to the late Norman Flood and Lena Martin Flood.

In addition to her parents, Fannie was preceded in death by her husband, William Andrew Kellum; two sons, William Darnell Kellum and Barry Larnell Kellum; three sisters, Anna Belle Reynolds, Mildred Flood, and Fary Mae Flood; four brothers, Norman Flood, Jr., Carlton Flood, Lawson Flood, and Jerry Flood; and one grandchild, Markiem L. Kellum.

Fannie graduated from Albert Harris Training School and was a member of Kingdom Hall (Jehovah’s Witnesses). She was a hardworking and dedicated woman who retired from Tultex after more than 30 years of service.

Fannie had a natural heart for caring for others and spent time serving as a caregiver, always willing to lend a helping hand wherever she was needed. She was a giving and compassionate person who found joy in doing for others. In her spare time, Fannie enjoyed making clothes, using her creativity and talents to create special pieces for herself and those around her. Most of all, she loved and held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Alicia C. Kellum and Darnell Kellum (Tanya); nine great-grandchildren, including Keaijah Kellum and Keshon Kellum; and great-great-grandchildren, Rhyli Powell and Jaxx Johnson. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends to cherish her memory.
