Benny Wayne Travis

Benny Wayne Travis, 76, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2026. Benny was born in Roanoke VA on November 14, 1949 to the late Sally Lou Osborne Travis and the late Wade Hampton Travis Sr.

Benny was of the Christian Faith and attended Gospel Worship Center. He very much enjoyed Duke Basketball. He worked for many years as the manager of Kwik Shop Inc., and he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.

Benny is survived by two sisters; Vivian Thomas of Lakeland, FL and Lois T. Burnett (Bobby) of Providence, NC; a special brother; Prophet Cobbs Jr.; 14 nieces and nephews; and numerous great nieces and nephews as well as 2 great-great nieces.

In addition to his parents; Benny was predeceased by four brothers; Wade Jr., Johnny, Clarence and Bruce Travis; and four sisters; Audrey McKinney, Anna Martin, Barbara Ann Travis, and Betty Jean Travis.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 2:00pm at Gospel Worship Center, at 3480 W. Main St., Danville, VA 24541, with Pastor Stan Lawton officiating. A visitation will immediately follow the service.
