Imojean F. Martin

Imojean F. Martin, 92, passed peacefully from this life on September 21, 2026. She was predeceased by her husband, W. Sherman Martin; her mother Lula Bell C. Frye; her father, Leonard O. Frye and step-mother, Emeline; her step-brother, John E. Cannaday; sister, Lynette G. Frye; and grandson, Benjamin O. Martin.

She is survived by her son, William S. Martin, Jr. and his wife, Martha A. Martin; her daughter, Dawn M. Stanley and her husband, Edsel D. Stanley, Jr.

Surviving grandchildren include Rev. E. Dale Stanley, III and his wife Rosalind; W. Andrew Stanley and his wife, Molly Wainwright; Alexandra M. Crutchfield and her husband Clark; Marshall T. Stanley; W. Taylor Martin and his wife, Brooke.

Surviving great-grandchildren include Ivria, Miles, Liat and Devar Stanley; Nora Jane Stanley Wainwright; Clara Crutchfield; and Lucas Martin.

Imojean ran a child care business in her home before she went to work at Cave Spring Junior High School as a teacher’s aide. She was active in her church, Windsor Hills Baptist, where she volunteered and participated in adult classes and taught Bible and Sunday School. She spent many years as a volunteer with Cave Spring Little League Girl’s softball. She loved sports of all kinds and spent many hours watching her children and grandchildren play.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 11:00 am, Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem, Virginia.
