William Boyd Grubb

William Boyd Grubb, age 74, of Blacksburg, died, Wednesday, September 23, 2026. He was born in Montgomery County, Virginia, on October 3, 1951, to the late William Warren and Irene Havens Grubb. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Grubb, and brother-in-law, Jerry Semones. Boyd was a lifelong farmer and builder. He raised cattle, built fences, bridges, roadways, barns, and various other structures throughout the New River Valley. Boyd worked closely with his father, William Warren Grubb, until his passing in the year 2000. He continued working with his sons and countless other young people. Boyd passed his knowledge, skills, humor, and his can-do work ethic down to many people throughout his life. He is survived by his sons, Travis Grubb, Tucker (Jody) LaForce and Tommy LaForce; sisters, Wanda Semones and Frances (Jim) August; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at 6:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Tucker LaForce officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 6:00 pm, prior to the service at McCoy Funeral Home.
