William "Bill" F. Griggs

William F. “Bill” Griggs, Jr. husband of Judy Griggs passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026 with his family at his side. He was the son of the late William and Frances Kegley Griggs, Sr. He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, A.L. Black; and a sister-in-law, Betty Black.

Bill was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and went on to retire from Proctor & Gamble after 32 years of service. He was an Eagle Scout, a Shriner, Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and a Mason for more than 50 years. As an avid golfer, he had several holes in one throughout his life.

In addition to his wife of 65 years, Judy Black Griggs he is survived by his brother, John T. “Tim” Griggs; brothers-in-law, Barry Black and Wayne Newell; sisters-in-law, Penny Newell and Carolyn Black; nieces, Terry, Tina, Amanda, Courtney and a special niece, Angela Mitchell; nephews, Michael and Todd.
