Angela Lynne Barker
Angela Lynn Barker, 48, of Madison Heights, VA, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026.
Born on August 11, 1978, she was a daughter of the late Dennis Wayne Tyler and Sharon Gale Thomas Tyler. Angie was the Operations Manager of the Stadium Inn where she became a beloved member of the community.
As for her hobbies and interests, she loved music, dancing, and any opportunity to gather with friends and loved ones. She often said that one day she was going to drop everything and move to the beach, where she seemed to find her greatest sense of peace. She had a truly loving and caring soul and never failed to brighten someone’s day when they were struggling, even when she was having the worst day of her own. If she walked into the darkest room, she had a way of lighting it up as if there were a million suns. There truly aren’t enough words to describe how amazing she was. She didn’t just tell people how much she cared; she showed it, every single day, without fail.
She is survived by her four children, Sierra Barker (Harold Smith), Rosa Atkins, Brandon Barker, and Kimberly Barker; her three grandchildren, Elaina, Emberlynn, and Everleigh Atkins; her two sisters, Pamela Martin (David) and Chrissy Huber; seven nieces and nephews, Skyla, Christopher, Little David, Samantha, Nicholas, Kalei, and Liam; and her best friend, Tiffany Plum, whom she loved like a sister.
Angie was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Alaina.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Whitten Monelison Chapel. The family encourages everyone to come share their stories, memories, and special moments with Angie as they gather to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made toward funeral expenses to help the family during this difficult time. Donations may be made directly to Whitten Monelison Chapel by contacting the funeral home, or donations may be given to the family. The family deeply appreciates any love, prayers, and support offered during this time.
Angela’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the love she shared with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her love and memories will remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
