Julia Phillips Brunk, 54, of Thaxton, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2026 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. She was born on Friday, August 11, 1972 to the late Richard Phillips & Julie Carter Phillips. Julia is also preceded in death by her husband, Carson Elkins; sister, Linda Gail Carter; brothers-in-law, Fred Carter & Richard Waldron.
Julia worked as a caregiver with Consumer Direct.
Surviving is her son, Richard Elkins; half-sister, Virginia Falls; sisters, Mary Waldron, Dot Goff (Larry), Regina Lietz (Bill) & Janie Wilson; nieces, Ashley Witt (Cody) & Delores Evans (Jason) & many other family members.
