Nichole Beatrice Anderson Helms

Nichole Beatrice Anderson Helms, 49, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at her residence. She was born on October 7, 1976, in Martinsville, VA to Creighton Reed Anderson, Jr. and the late Shirley West Anderson.

Mrs. Helms was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Bassett, where she faithfully served as a youth leader, assisted in the nursery, and played handbells. She dedicated twenty-seven years to educating children at Rich Acres Elementary School, serving as an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher. Through both her church and career, she touched the lives of many with her caring heart, patience, and love for others.

Surviving is her husband of twenty-seven years, Brandon Wayne Helms; daughters, Hailey Stacia Helms, and Linsey Cora Helms; sister, Laura Rogers (Kevin); nieces and nephews, Jordan Rogers Adams (Dylan), Eli Rogers, Mikayla Eason and Asher Eason. Also surviving are numerous cousins, and extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Bassett. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Bassett with Pastor Doug Ramsey officiating. Following the service, a meal will be provided. Family and friends are warmly invited to stay and share a meal together in fellowship and remembrance.

The family of Mrs. Helms would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to family, friends, and caregivers for the many prayers, love, kindness, and support shown during this time. Your thoughtful words, comforting presence, and acts of kindness have meant more to us than words can express. We are deeply grateful to each of you for helping carry us through this difficult time.
