Betty Jean Bryant Richardson

Betty Jean Bryant Richardson, 72, of Pamplin passed away on Monday, October 5, 2026, at her residence. She was the loving wife of David Lee Richardson.
Born on September 3, 1954, in Lynchburg, she was the daughter of the late Basil Harding Bryant and Shelby Williams Bryant Ponton. She was an active member of Piney Ridge United Methodist Church. Betty loved her family, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to the beach, and sewing.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her two sons, Davey Richardson and wife, Jennifer and Lee Richardson and wife, Shana; five grandchildren, Lane, Bentley, Marin, Ivy, and Heidi; three sisters, Wanda Bryant, Bonnie Sorrells, and Lisa Womack; stepbrother, Lee Ponton and wife, Jeanette; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2pm, Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Piney Ridge United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Hernandez officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 pm, Wednesday October 7, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Pearson Cancer Center, Oncology staff at Lynchburg General Hospital, Duke Medical Center, and Centra Hospice Farmville for their care of Betty.
