Kitty Giles McGregor

Kitty Giles McGregor, age 89, of Blairs, Virginia entered into rest on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Roman Eagle Health and Rehabilitation, Danville, VA. Mrs. McGregor was born January 18, 1937, in Danville to the late Annie Hutcherson Giles and the late James Isaac Giles. She was married to John Binford McGregor, who survives, of the residence.

She was a faithful member of Oakland Community Church of Blairs and retired with 32 years of service working in Hylton Hall of Dan River Mills, Inc.

In addition to her beloved husband, she is also survived by her daughter, Karen McGregor Tyrrell (Andrew) of Danville and grandchildren, Carter Tyrrell Read (Winston) of Midlothian, VA and Chandler Tyrrell Roegge (Will) of Falls Church, VA, and great-grandson, John Winston Read, III.

Predeceased family members, in addition to her parents, include sisters, Callie G. Brumfield, Louise G. Lewis, Garland G. Merricks, Janice G. Robertson, and Evelyn G. Jones and brothers, David Lee Giles, James Vernon Giles, and Robert Clyde Giles.

A funeral service honoring Mrs. McGregor will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Oakland Community Church with Rev. Cabel Cobbs officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service at Hillcrest Burial Park in Chatham, Virginia. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., also at Oakland Community Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that memorial contributions be made to Oakland Community Church, 180 Snakepath Rd, Blairs, VA 24527.
